Volunteering
Volunteer opportunities with GMT allow us to take a break from our academic identity and instead practice the gift of giving back. These experiences go beyond the classroom, immersing us in real-world environments where we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Every GMT volunteer event is a chance to connect, grow, and give back to our local community. Whether assisting in clinics, educating patients on health practices, or simply listening to their stories, our members leave a lasting impact while gaining invaluable experience and a renewed sense of purpose.
GMT is also excited to roll out a new initiative that brings together pre-medical organizations across UTA for a unified day of wide-scale community service. Serve Local, Heal Global is a campus-wide day of large-scale, targeted volunteer efforts within our local community. Through collaborative service projects—ranging from food insecurity and public health education to environmental cleanups and healthcare access—students work together to address real needs and make a tangible impact. Rooted in the belief that meaningful global change begins at home, this initiative empowers future healthcare leaders to serve with purpose, compassion, and collaboration.
