Aia Al Nasrah

Aia is a senior psychology major with a minor in chemistry on the pre-medical track and will be serving as Treasurer. Her academic interests include psychology, neuroscience, and medicine, with a particular focus on supporting underserved and special needs populations.

Through Aia’s involvement in GMT, she has developed leadership skills and learned the importance of taking initiative, and community engagement. She is excited to make new friends and build new connections in this spring and on our trip. Volunteering is a meaningful part of her life, and she strives to always be actively involved in service-oriented opportunities. Aia is currently a research volunteer assistant in the UTA Motor Development Lab, where she works with mostly children with special needs and assist with research aimed at improving developmental outcomes.

Aia has over five years of experience working in healthcare. She began my journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and has spent the past three years working as an ER Tech. Working in a fast paced and high acuity environment has strengthened her clinical skills and reinforced her passion to pursue a career in medicine. After completing her undergrad, Aia plans to attend medical school with the goal of specializing in trauma surgery.

In addition, she is an active member and a house leader in MAPS, where she enjoys mentoring, teaching, and supporting fellow pre-med students. Outside of academics and healthcare, Aia loves animals, especially cats! She also love going on walks, trying new foods, and doing Pilates.

Fun fact: I love watching true crime documentaries in my free time!
